    CORIOLANUS

5A goodly house: the feast smells well; but I
    Appear not like a guest.
    Re-enter the first Servingman

    FIRST SERVINGMAN

What would you have, friend? whence are you?
Here’s no place for you: pray, go to the door.

    CORIOLANUS

I have deserved no better entertainment,
    10In being Coriolanus.
    Re-enter second Servingman

    SECOND SERVINGMAN

Whence are you, sir? Has the porter his eyes in his
head; that he gives entrance to such companions?
    Pray, get you out.

    CORIOLANUS

    Away!
  • A hall in Aufidius’s house.
Music plays offstage. A Servant enters.

    FIRST SERVANT

Wine, wine, wine! What kind of service is this? I think the other servants are asleep.
    He exits.
    A Second Servant enters.

    SECOND SERVANT

Where’s Cotus? My master calls for him. Cotus!
    He exits.
    CORIOLANUS enters.

    CORIOLANUS

This is a good house. The feast smells good, but I don’t look like a guest.
    The First Servant reenters.

    FIRST SERVANT

What are you doing here, friend? Where are you from? This is no place for you. Please leave.
    He exits.

    CORIOLANUS

I wouldn’t be welcomed any better if they knew I were Coriolanus.
    The Second Servant reenters.

    SECOND SERVANT

Where are you from, sir? Is the porter blind to let someone like you in? Please, get out.

    CORIOLANUS

    Go away!
